1. My tray set is used for storing things such as jewelry or basic knick knacks. My design has sides which is is useful for storing things because they won't fall out.
2. For my idea, I basically just winged it, I did whatever I wanted and I chose the shape because it looked the best in my opinion. 3. For the process, I rolled out the clay into a big slab and then I put it over top of my mold, with a plastic wrap barrier. I then smoothed out my clay and and removed it from the mold and fired it. |
S-Graffito Tile
1. First, we had to use a stencil to cut out the shape and then we made the edges slanted. Next we dried them out and painted this black stuff on it (I forgot what it is called) and then stenciled out design on. I went for some mountains. Next we scraped off the black painted which added dimension, then we fired them, added a top coat, and fired again.
2. I honestly thought the s graffito process was cool and fun. I loved the way it all came together when you started carving. 3. I think my piece was successful because the design turned out how I wanted it for the most part, but if i were to re-do this project I would do a more intricate design. |
In Progress1. For my idea, I went on Pinterest and took elements from like 5 different pictures. I also really like how pretty mountain ranges our, and I like the element of night.
2. Well I am technically writing this after I finished it, so I guess here's the whole process again- we had to use a stencil to cut out the shape and then we made the edges slanted. Next we dried them out and painted this black stuff on it (I forgot what it is called) and then stenciled out design on. Next we scraped off the black painted which added dimension, then we fired them, added a top coat, and fired again. |
